Personal Care Assistance

A home health aide provides hands-on personal care of a patient or provides services needed to maintain the patient’s health or to facilitate treatment of the patient’s illness or injury.

Home health aide services alone are not considered a skilled service. The patient must first be in need of skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech-language pathology or have a continuing need for occupational therapy to receive home health aide services.
